International Ministry

Mar. 2 - Sept. 3, 2010
Michael Tomasulo, Alice Tomasulo (Michael's Mom) Doug Linser, Jason Rinnear, and Scott & Alanna Jennings were recently living and ministering in Botswana, Africa. The Lord is still working powerfully there and we encourage you to check back here frequently for updates on the team's progress.

Apostolic Ministry in Africa
In August 2007, the Tomasulos and Jennings went to Botswana to provide apostolic ministry support to Apostle John and Anastasia Ramotshabi and to Apostle Rob and Mary Grindley. While in Botswana, they ministered at churches, preached at evangelistic campaigns, taught at a Bible School and prayed for the sick. By the grace of God, people were saved, healed and delivered from sickness, disease, and oppression. During this trip, Michael began receiving vision from the Lord about doing future apostolic work in Africa. Then one night before he preached at an evangelistic campaign and while he was worshipping the Lord, Michael had an unexpected encounter with the Lord.

Like an “Isaiah 6” experience, Michael suddenly felt sorrow for sin and was led into a brief time of repentance, after which the Lord said to him three times, “But, will you come here?” Immediately, Michael realized that the Lord had called him and his family to spend long periods of time in Botswana and other African nations to plant churches, raise up and equip church leaders, edify and strengthen churches and ministries, and to start ministry equipping centers. Thus, the Lord had birthed the Tomasulo's apostolic ministry in Africa!

The following provides an overview of the strategy for an Apostolic Ministry Initiative based in Mahalapye, Botswana, Africa. The initiative begins March 2, 2010 and is a joint effort by Lionsheart International Churches & Ministries (Michael Tomasulo) and Church of the Harvest Equipping Ministries (Scott & Alanna Jennings).

THE LOCALE

• Botswana is a nation in southern Africa that is relatively stable (politically and economically), generally safe, and largely open to Christian ministry.

• Mahalapye is a town of 40,000 people located approximately 100 miles northeast of Gaborone, Botswana's capital.

3 PHASE STRATEGY

• Phase I - March through August 2010 - Tomasulo's/Jennings' in Botswana to survey the area in and around Mahalapye, to prepare for and carry out the Church-Plant Campaign, and to equip and set-in local leadership for the ongoing work.

• Phase II - Remainder of 2010 - Continuing apostolic support for the new church plant, and establishing the Ministry Equipping Center for developing young leaders (see description of Ministry Equipping Center, attached).

• Phase III - 2011 and Beyond - Ongoing local and apostolic ministry to grow the local Church and to establish the campus to house the Church, the Ministry Equipping Center, and a Community Outreach Center.

THE CHURCH PLANT CAMPAIGN

• A tent-meeting church-plant campaign will be held for 3 nights – Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 6-8, in an open field near the populated areas of Mahalapye.

• Tent meetings will include worship, preaching of the Word, prayer for the sick, and salvation ministry to those who respond to the Gospel.

• Daytime discipleship meetings will be announced each evening and held the following day for new believers saved during the tent-meetings, those serving at the campaign, and other local believers. These will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 7th and 8th, from 10am to noon.
